Joshua Tree Forest - Arizona - Grand Canyon West Rim Drive - Appleton Photographer Tracy Van Zeeland - PPA Loan Image

I just received the 2013-2014 Professional Photographers of America Loan Book (I order one every year whether I'm in it or not to see what the best of the best in the photographic industry has created), and as I was paging through it I found one of my images from last years competition I completely forgot had received a Loan designation.
The image was taken during a trip a couple of years ago from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon West Rim. The West Rim is run by the Hualapai Indian Tribe and is known for it's glass shaped U Skywalk that juts out over the canyon. If you haven't got the time to drive the extra distance to the South Rim, I strongly recommend the West Rim. Couple of things you should know though, it is a bit more expensive to visit the West Rim and to walk out onto the Skywalk there is an extra charge (and no cameras, watches or anything that could scratch the glass is allowed). I didn't go out onto the Skywalk because frankly, if I can't take a picture of it...well, what can I say - I'm a photographer! Also, unlike the South Rim, there are no guardrails, so you're on your own for safety!

The image, titled "Desert Oasis" was taken in the Joshua Tree Forest in Arizona.
This image is available for purchase. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this artwork.
